Built for E8 Markets forex traders

The E8 Markets journal for challenge & funded.

E8's challenge and funded stages are different beasts — same trader, different psychology, different rules. GridTrade keeps E8 Account, ELEV8 and E8 Track as separate accounts so you can spot the gap. Plus R-multiple per trade across forex, indices and metals, daily PnL calendar for daily and max drawdown, emotion 1-5 per trade, setup playbook with live stats. The data is there. The question is whether you'll look.

Why E8 Markets traders specifically

1. E8 Account, ELEV8 & E8 Track — tracked as separate accounts

E8 offers several product lines with their own rules and their own psychology. Most traders behave differently once real payouts are on the line — tilting earlier, holding losers longer, cutting winners faster. GridTrade lets you keep E8 Account, ELEV8 and E8 Track as separate accounts in the same journal — so you can quantify the difference. "My win rate dropped from 62% in the challenge to 51% once funded. Why?"

2. Daily + max drawdown awareness via calendar

Daily and max drawdown are the kill switches most prop traders trip. The calendar view colors each day green/red/grey, so bad streaks are visible from across the room, while the running balance shows your distance to max drawdown. Filtering by emotion ≥ 4 shows which emotional state most often precedes a breach. Verify exact limits on e8markets.com.

3. Scaling-plan progress you can actually see

Many E8 plans scale account size as you hit milestones and have no fixed time limit. The daily-PnL distribution shows whether your growth comes from many steady green days or one or two outliers — the pattern that decides whether you scale smoothly or stall. Grind repeatable days, not hero trades. Confirm current scaling terms on e8markets.com.

4. R-multiple per trade — across forex, indices & metals

Scalp EURUSD, swing gold, trade an index CFD? Different dollar amounts, same R-multiple. GridTrade normalizes everything to R so you can compare your setup performance fairly across instruments and position sizes. R-multiple and PnL calculate automatically on MT4/MT5-style forex, index, metal and crypto trades.

5. Emotion as a structured 1-5 field

The biggest difference between challenge-you and funded-you is emotional. Tag every trade with emotion 1-5. Filter your performance by emotion state. Watch your win rate collapse at emotion ≥ 4. That's the leak that fails E8 accounts — and the setup playbook with live expectancy shows you which setups to cut.

FAQ — E8 Markets & GridTrade

Does GridTrade enforce E8 Markets' drawdown rules?

No — GridTrade is a journal, not a risk-management gateway sitting between you and MT4, MT5, or whichever platform E8 provides. The actual daily and max drawdown limits are enforced by E8's own software, which will close your positions and lock the account the moment you breach them. What the journal gives you is visibility: the calendar view shows each day's PnL as a colored box, so you can monitor your distance to the daily drawdown and review how often you drift close to it. That pattern is worth studying. Most traders don't blow a drawdown on one clean trade — they get there through revenge entries and size creep after a loss, usually with emotion tags climbing toward 4 or 5. Reviewing red days against those tags shows you the behavior before it costs you the account. Daily and max drawdown end most prop accounts, so building awareness around them is the whole point. Verify exact rules on e8markets.com.

Can I journal trades from MT4 / MT5?

Yes — GridTrade is platform-agnostic and manual-entry by design, so it works alongside MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, or whichever platform E8 supports. There's no broker connection to configure and nothing to break when a platform updates. The manual entry is a feature, not a limitation: the 60 seconds you spend logging each trade — entry, exit, size, R-multiple, and an emotion tag — is the journaling habit itself. Traders who auto-import everything tend to skim past their own mistakes, because the log fills itself and nobody actually looks at it. Typing it in forces a small moment of honest review right when it matters most, just after the trade. Everything lands on the same calendar and feeds the same stats regardless of where you executed, so a day split across two platforms still reads as one clean record. CSV and statement import is on the roadmap for people who want to backfill their history faster.

E8 has a scaling plan — does the journal help?

Yes. E8's scaling plan rewards steady, consistent growth by increasing your account size as you hit milestones, so watching how evenly your profit builds matters. The calendar view and daily-PnL distribution make that visible at a glance: you can immediately see whether your gains come from many steady green days or one or two outliers carrying everything. Scaling favors the trader who grinds repeatable days over the one swinging for hero trades, and your own journal shows which one you actually are. If a single day is doing all the work, you know to keep sizing sensibly rather than forcing another big swing. Pair the distribution with your emotion tags and R-multiple and you start to see which setups produce that steady, scale-friendly profit curve. Consistency isn't luck — it's a pattern you can watch build day by day and correct early, well before it stalls your progress. Confirm current scaling terms on e8markets.com.

I also trade FTMO / Apex / Topstep — same journal?

Yes — just add a separate account for each firm and keep them side by side. Every prop program has its own quirks: FTMO runs a different drawdown and profit-target structure, Apex has its own trailing threshold, and Topstep sits somewhere else again on daily loss limit and payout rules, while E8 leans on flexible, customizable challenges and a scaling plan. Keeping each in its own account means the stats, calendar, and R-multiple never bleed together, and you can see honestly which firm's ruleset actually fits how you trade. Many traders discover they're consistently profitable under one structure and repeatedly tripped up by another — and that's a decision the numbers should make, not your gut. The emotion and consistency data carries across all of them, so the habits you build for E8 transfer straight over to the rest.
